Student Life

Visitors to Christendom often comment on the friendliness and warmth of our school.

It’s an unassuming, casual and joyful place to learn and grow, and we work hard to keep it that way.

This is due partly to the atmosphere of freedom we promote. Within prudent guardrails and as circumstances allow, Christendom students are given freedom to choose the good. We believe freedom is the only road to lasting virtue, so we grant it incrementally as students are prepared for it.

Our culture is also built by faculty who love spending time with students and with each other. They believe their primary mission is to serve families, to partner with parents in the education and formation of their children. We know that this happens primarily outside of the classroom, so teachers are continually available to students as mentors and guides.

Athletics

We believe sports are a powerful tool for growth in character and virtue, toughness and magnanimity. We also know that young men and women benefit in mind and body from developing their coordination, strength and fitness. Christendom sports teams, the Bees, compete in local youth and CYO leagues.

Extracurricular Opportunities

Something’s always abuzz at Christendom. Students have the opportunity to sing in a choir, play violin, join the chess club, go skiing at Mount Crescent, and much more. As Christendom Academy grows, so do the chances for students to develop interests and pursue curiosity to become well-rounded young women and men.

We also understand and admire the desire of many families to place first things first and to resist the “overload” so common these days with countless scheduled activities every week. As much as possible, we aim to be partners in that goal, helping families honor the balance that works best for them and their students.
